James died during the First World War. He was one of 300 solders 'shot at dawn'. Later it was understood that the 300 where suffering from shell shock and where re-instated with full millitary honners. James had been lost to the family until recently when Rodney Freeburn and Roger Crozier contacted me as they where researching to see if James belonged to their tree of Croziers. There is a Memorial to James in the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas in the black country, north of birmingham. Jame's death and grave are listed here http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=311775 | ||||
